KN95 masks are now available for Facilities Management employees. Supervisors and managers may request KN95 and disposable, three-ply (surgical-style) masks for their teams.

To order, fill out the Face Cover Request Form available on the Facilities Management Materials webpage.

UVA policy currently requires Facilities Management employees to wear face coverings at all times while indoors at UVA properties, unless alone in an office or vehicle. Starting March 21, this policy will be changing and wearing a mask will be voluntary in most University owned and leased spaces, with the exception of UVA Health facilities, University Transit buses and in classrooms. (Read the Feb. 22 update from President Ryan.)

While KN95 masks are not required for faculty, staff and students in the Academic Division, they are recommended in certain situations based on Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance released earlier this year that provides information on different types of masks and the varying levels of protection.

This guidance suggests that a KN95 mask may be considered in situations where greater protection is needed or desired, such as when interacting with large numbers of the public especially when others are not consistently wearing a mask.

For more information about KN95 masks, review the KN95 Mask Information & Resources (PDF) information sheet on the Facilities Management website.
