How to buy/receive surplus property
University-owned, unneeded surplus property, including furniture and miscellaneous items, is available for purchase by the general public, UVA business use and non-profit use customers.
Customers interested in receiving items for UVA business use only may view items in person during the store's weekly business hours (noted below) or browse inventory online and reserve items by emailing reuse@virginia.edu.

Store procedures
Store hours for public, UVA business use and non-profit use customers:
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday — 6 a.m.-2 p.m.
- Monday and Friday — Closed
Appointments are no longer required for the main ReUSE Store location (580 McCormick Road) but are required to view inventory at the Millmont Street warehouse location (email reuse@virginia.edu to make an appointment). The inventory website notes the location of each item within the listing.
The ReUSE Store will only accept debit/credit card payments at this time (no cash) and all items must be removed by 2 p.m. on the day of sale. When purchasing an item located at the Millmont warehouse, customers will need to finalize payment at the main ReUSE Store location.
Public sale information
Items are priced individually, and prices are non-negotiable. Items are available first come, first serve (no auctioning). All items must be picked up by 2 p.m. the day of the sale or they will be placed back into inventory.
Assistance loading items into vehicles will be provided, however securing or strapping items is strictly the customer's responsibility. ReUSE Store staff does not disassemble, deliver or install items.
No guarantees on any items, everything is purchased as is. All sales are final, no refunds or exchanges. Payment options are credit or debit, no cash or checks.
UVA business use information
Office furniture and some general surplus items contained at the UVA ReUSE Store are generally free when requested for UVA business use on Grounds (not for personal use), although a fee is charged for delivery and certain items are auctioned.
Customers interested in receiving items for UVA business use on Grounds only may view items in person during the store's weekly business hours (noted above) or browse inventory online and reserve items by emailing reuse@virginia.edu. Once you received confirmation your item is in stock then you can enter a request to have it delivered via the Surplus Portal.
Non-profit use information
University-owned surplus can be donated to approved 501c3 non-profit organizations. If your non-profit would like to receive donations, please send a copy of your approved 501c3 IRS determination letter to reuse@virginia.edu and a ReUSE Store staff member will contact you.
