Community involvement

In addition to professional roles at UVA, many Facilities Management employees are committed to helping those around them by volunteering in the community. Facilities Management employees actively contribute to the community in many ways, including volunteering for the following:

  • Blood drives throughout the year
  • Building Goodness Foundation (BGF) – volunteers upgrade nonprofit organizations’ facilities, renovate homes for the elderly, low-income and disabled neighbors in partnership with students from the UVA Darden School of Business. BGF volunteers have also worked on various improvements outside Richmond at Mattaponi Reservation, home to Virginia’s First People, for nearly a decade.
