Landscape Services

The visual appearance of the University’s natural environment is our responsibility, and we take great pride in what we do.

The Landscape Services division provides a full range of landscape maintenance and installation services including mowing, tree maintenance, turf maintenance, soil conservation and snow removal. Landscape staff protect the safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors. In addition to supporting the exterior spaces on Grounds, the Landscape staff provides services to properties that the University owns.

The Landscape Services division also supports special events at the University, ranging from graduation to receptions for new faculty. You're invited to take advantage of our experience and resources by submitting an online service request as soon as you decide to host an event.

The University of Virginia has earned the Tree Campus USA designation annually since 2018. This Arbor Day Foundation program honors universities and their leaders for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation.

The University also received the Bee Campus USA certification from the Xerces Society starting in 2021, thanks to many of the Landscape Services department's existing practices.
