Facilities Management's Fleet team is launching a new system for reserving motor pool vehicles.

The new system – which will go live in October – will include a new kiosk and key lockbox located in the lower-level Leake Building near conference room 020.

FM employees will be able to reserve a vehicle via the kiosk or make reservations in advance via a website. The keys to the vehicle will then be accessed through the key lockbox. The current process to reserve a vehicle through Outlook and pick up the keys from the Customer Support Center will be discontinued.

More information and training will be provided in the coming weeks. For questions, reach out to fm-fleet@virginia.edu.

This is the first year the application was submitted on behalf of the University's entire fleet, including Facilities Management, UVA Health, Housing & Residence Life and Parking & Transportation.

“NAFA recognized all our joint efforts on Grounds, showcasing our green initiatives,” said FM Transportation Operations and Fleet Manager Mike Duffy.

NAFA is the world's largest membership association for individuals who manage the vehicular fleet and mobility responsibilities for their employers. This annual honor recognizes the top 50 organizations that execute groundbreaking and inventive programs for their green initiatives. The Green Fleet Award is a comprehensive set of criteria specifically tailored around the challenges and requirements of fleet professionals.

This is the sixth consecutive year UVA has been recognized in this contest and was one of only four University fleets recognized.
