FM supporting annual food donation drive
Facilities Management is supporting the annual Souper Bowl of Caring food donation drive this year.
This annual event takes place around the time of the Super Bowl football game and aims to raise donations supporting food pantries across the country.
Now through Monday, Feb. 12, Facilities Management is collecting donations to support the UVA Community Food Pantry and our satellite pantry, The Snack Drawer, located in the OP Classroom (previously, the FM Lunchroom), as well as raise awareness for food insecurity efforts across Grounds.
Physical donations of nonperishable food can be dropped in the donation box located on the lower-level lobby, at the foot of the stairs, in Skipwith Hall or placed directly in the Snack Drawer (inside the OP Classroom). Cash or check donations will be collected by Lori Mohr Pedersen in Leake 117 or can be submitted online directly to the UVA Community Food Pantry through the UVA Souper Bowl of Caring donation website.
Suggested donations for the Snack Drawer include:
- Crackers
- Granola bars
- Dried fruit and nuts
Suggested donations for the UVA Community Food Pantry include:
- Nonperishable canned goods such as soups, beans and vegetables
- Shelf-stable dairy-free milks
- Dried fruit
- Pancake mix
