Facilities Management's annual fall appreciation event is set for Oct. 16

What: FM Employee Appreciation Event, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, corner of Leake Drive and Alderman Road (ROTC Lawn). Tents will cover the event area and as such, the event will take place rain or shine.
Who: This event is open to all current and retired Facilities Management employees. All FM employees can attend and enjoy for at least 90 minutes. Employees should check-in with their supervisor to confirm the timing of your attendance and ensure coverage of work responsibilities.
Food: The lunch will feature a variety of food from Wahoo BBQ (owned by Former Elevator team member Howie Brown) and include pulled pork barbecue, hamburgers, hot dogs, smoked turkey, veggie burgers as well as various side dishes, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, and dessert.
Transportation/parking: Employees are asked to carpool as possible in FM vehicles and park in the Facilities Management lot (behind the Leake Building) or in any of the three E1 lots — all vehicle traffic will be direct to Pratt Drive; no vehicles will be allowed down Leake Drive. Overflow parking will be available in the Zehmer Hall parking lot, ADA parking will be available in the E1 Cemetery lot and HSPP has organized shuttle services.
Alternative shift workers: Employees working alternative shifts who will not be at work during the event's hours will receive a meal delivered either around 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 or 6:30 a.m. Oct. 17 (details sent directly to those staff members).

Activities: The event will include the return of the FM car/vehicle show plus a DJ and lawn games as well as tables featuring representatives from a variety of community resources and UVA employee resource groups.
