New search tool for proper waste disposal
Don't know where to throw? Find exactly where your waste should go with the new UVA Waste Directory.
This new search tool allows the University community to search for a given item (like batteries, pizza boxes, food scraps, etc.) and determine how and where to dispose of it properly.
The UVA Waste Directory — created by the Office for Sustainability — will increase the University's landfill diversion rate, decrease contamination in recycling and compost, increase reuse, and ultimately help UVA reach our goal of reducing waste by 70% (relevant to 2010 levels) by 2030.
