Educational & Professional Accomplishments

The Facilities Management Fleet has been recognized as No. 41 in the 100 Best Public Fleets in North America awards in 2023. This marks the Fleet's highest ranking in the annual awards, last year the team was awarded the 66th spot. “Of special note, the judges have identified that the University's fleet team uniquely and innovatively educates students…on progressive fleet management aspects of the industry, most certainly developing the industry's next generation of fleet management leaders team,” according a statement by the NAFA Fleet Management Association.

Mary Beth Greer, mechanical engineering associate with CC&R Design Services, recently passed her Professional Engineer (PE) license exam

Compliments from Customers

Newcomb Zone Maintenance, Central Grounds Zone Maintenance, General Services, Sign Shop and Customer Support Center teams: Thank you and please convey a huge Office of Admission thank you to your teams in Facilities Management that supported Days on the Lawn (DOTL) in every way! Everything on Grounds for each DOTL was just right and your teams played a large part in helping create each successful event. Through the many requests sent to Facilities Management and sometimes confusing contradictions or duplications, quickly changing logistics, and handling requests outside of Facilities, you all intuited exactly what was needed and responded quickly, professionally, and provided exactly what was needed. The communication and follow-through were excellent! Thank you for being key players and supporting Admission in each one of the four successful Days on the Lawn. — Diane Willingham, Office of Undergraduate Admission

Doug Rush, Will Schnorr and Derek Wilson: Recently, Doug Rush reported discovering an illicit discharge — staining on the ground behind the West Complex that appeared to be the result of someone dumping wastewater on the ground which is not allowed by the University's stormwater permits and policy. Doug and Will, with Derek's encouragement, quickly arranged for the material to be cleaned up prior to impending storms and environmental impacts. They also tracked down the personnel involved with the incident and educated the associated supervisors on proper handling of wastewater (the personnel work a late shift). I appreciate Doug, Will and Derek's support with implementing the University's policies, quick reporting/response, and encouraging environmental stewardship. — Kristin Carter, Associate Director for Environmental Compliance
