Information sessions about UVA Edge scheduled for Facilities Management staff

Interested in pursuing a college degree while working full-time? Eligible employees can earn 20 undergraduate credits from the University of Virginia through UVA Edge, a flexible online program designed for working adults.

Those interested in the UVA Edge program are invited to attend an information session hosted on site specifically for Facilities Management employees.

UVA Edge is a unique online program where adult learners can earn 20 undergraduate credits over three semesters that can be applied toward an associate's or bachelor's degree. The program, a partnership between the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences and the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, is designed to help working adults develop human and digital skills for career advancement and life enrichment. The program is ideal for individuals who have earned less than 30 college credits, and coursework is at the first- and second-year level.

For eligible UVA employees, the program can be funded through the University's Education Benefit with little-to-no out-of-pocket cost for the full program.

The upcoming information sessions will feature an overview of Edge and an opportunity to ask questions of program staff as well as Facilities Management employees who have recently completed the program.

Online registration is required to attend one of four in-person information sessions for Facilities Management employees:

  • HSPP West Complex, conference room G032:
    • 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday, March 25
    • 2:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, March 25
  • FM Lunchroom:
    • 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 30
    • 2:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30

    • Facilities Management supervisors and managers who are interested in hosting an information session for their team may contact edge@virginia.edu to schedule. Individuals may also attend online information sessions that are scheduled for this spring.
