Lee Bryant of West Grounds Zone retired June 17 after 29 years of service. Lee first joined UVA in 1993 on the Utilities team working as a plumber. He worked for the fire crew for a few years before being promoted to plumbing supervisor, initially serving over all Academic buildings and then later serving the West Grounds Zone. Jeremy Dolan and Gary Mason: I wanted to take a moment to thank you both for your help with the family that needed ADA assistance at graduation. You were just the right people that I needed to run into (literally) at just the right time. I received a note from the family yesterday saying how appreciative they were and that we helped make their day feel very special. More importantly, they said we helped make their daughter feel seen and included. I owe much of this to you, Jeremy and Gary. I would NEVER have known where the indoor ADA restroom was or how to get there via wheelchair. You and the Central Grounds Zone team are always superstars — and on this day, even more so. Facilities Management employees supporting Reunions: To the amazing Facilities team that made the return of Reunions such a success -- thank you, thank you, thank you! I am at a loss for words in how to thank you and your teams for working so very hard to support our events the past two weeks. You are all such incredible professionals who consistently provide such excellent service. Your team is always willing and quick to jump in to help, proactively coming up with strategic solutions and troubleshooting any issues that arise. Thank you for your hard work, late hours and attention to detail - it truly is a privilege to serve alumni alongside such talented folks who are such a JOY to work with! I hope you are able to take some very well-deserved time off after such a busy spring. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! —Liz Crowder, UVA Alumni
The E&G Custodial Services Newcomb Zone recently hosted a fun gathering for their team members that included a barbecue and tie-dying T-shirts. “The Newcomb Zone definitely knows how to have a good time and creates opportunities to enjoy and celebrate one another,” said E&G Custodial Services Associate Director Vibha Buckingham.
