Finance Strategic Transformation impacts to FM

January 31, 2022

UVA-wide initiative will change purchasing and expense processes

Finance Strategic Transformation

A University-wide initiative will soon impact purchasing and expense processes. The Finance Strategic Transformation (FST) will consolidate UVA's financial management and reporting applications into a single system, Workday Financials.

Workday Financials will serve as the main source for day-to-day financial reporting and transactions, including expense approval and purchase orders. This platform supports efficient and effective business operations by reducing administrative burden and supporting compliance with policies and regulations.

Starting July 1, 2022, the following applications will be impacted:

  • Oracle will be replaced with Workday Financials.
  • Chrome River will be replaced with Workday Financials.
  • MarketPlace will be accessed from Workday Financials.
  • The P-T-A-O will be replaced with worktags.
  • Front-end approvals of purchase orders and invoices will be required in Workday.

Facilities Management employees within Finance, Technology & Information and Programs & Informatics have been working in teams to support Facilities Management's transition to the new system. These teams, along with Occupational Training and UVA Finance, will be providing informational updates and training opportunities to FM staff in the coming months.

Additional information about the project can found on the UVA Finance Strategic Transformation website.
