Employee Appreciation Lunch

Facilities Management is re-starting its annual fall appreciation event this year
UVA Facilities Management is hosting its annual Employee Appreciation Lunch set for 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5.
The event will be hosted in a new location this year on the ROTC lawn, the grass area located on the corner of Leake Drive and Alderman Road beside the ROTC/Astronomy Building (see map to right).
This event is open to all current and retired Facilities Management employees. All FM employees can attend and enjoy for at least one hour, check in with your supervisor about the timing of your attendance to ensure coverage of work responsibilities.
Food: The lunch will feature a variety of food from Wahoo BBQ (owned by former Elevator team member Howie Brown) and include pulled pork barbecue, chicken and beef hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers as well as various side dishes, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, desserts and drinks.
Transportation: Employees are asked to carpool in FM vehicles and park in the Facilities Management lot (behind the Leake Building) or in any of the three E1 lots — all vehicle traffic will be directed to enter via Pratt Drive. Overflow parking is also available in the Zehmer Hall parking lot. See attached map for more parking details. Vans are available from the Fleet office by request to be used for this purpose. Alternative shift workers: Those working alternative shifts who will not be at work during the event's hours will receive a meal delivered either around 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5 or 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6 (details sent directly to those staff members).
Activities: The event will include a DJ and lawn games as well as tables featuring representatives from a variety of UVA employee resource groups.
