Best Wishes to FM Retirees
Donna Hicks, of Housing Custodial retired in September after 45 years of service at UVA. Donna worked for Dining for eight years before moving over to Facilities Management in 1984. Throughout her time at UVA she worked all over Grounds, including at Monroe Hill, McCormick Road Residence Halls, Alderman dorms and Hereford Residential College.
Noted with Regret
Daniel Smith Mawyer, a retiree of Facilities Management, died on Dec. 10. Danny worked for what was then known as the Renovation division from September 1973 to February 2004.
Supporting our Community
Facilities Management supported the 2021 Toy Lift this year with the following donations collected by Customer Services Manager Brenda Buttner: 1 bike, 69 toys and $20. Way to go team, thanks again for everyone’s support!
Newcomb Zone Manager Jamie Joyner helped packed 77,700 pounds of food and toys for 1,300 children in mid-December through his role as vice president of Rockbridge Christmas Baskets. Check out the WDBJ news story for more information.
