As a reminder, all Facilities Management employees must:

  • Maintain 6 feet (2 meters) of physical distance between themselves and others. Tasks where this is not possible must be reviewed by leadership.
  • Wear a face cover at all times.
  • Make every effort to avoid having passengers in FM vehicles, including trucks, van, cars, kubotas and gators. Whenever a passenger is in an FM vehicle, both the driver and passenger must wear face covers, outside air ventilation must be maximized, and windows must be opened a minimum of 3 inches. More information regarding vehicle safety.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes.
  • Wash hands and sanitize surfaces & tools frequently.

If you have symptoms: stay home, quarantine, contact your supervisor and Employee Health at 434-924-2013 and follow their guidance.

Self-administered testing

Asymptomatic Facilities Management employees who are working outside the Central Virginia region remain eligible to order a free self-test kit from Let’s Get Checked, and the kit will be shipped directly to them. These kits, which are provided by the University free of charge, can be ordered by emailing covidinformation@virginia.edu.

Important: Should you receive a positive result from this test kit:

  • Do not report to work.
  • Notify your supervisor immediately by phone. Your supervisor must then complete a report to ensure your eligibility for the UVA Public Health Emergency Leave (PHEL).
  • Write down everyone you have been in contact with for at least 15 minutes total (with or without a facecovering) in the last few days. You will need to share any UVA employees listed with your supervisor.
  • Contact UVA Employee Health for guidance and next steps: 434-924-2013.
