Operations & Maintenance Divisions

Building Services

Building Services provides housekeeping services and contract housekeeping services administration for Academic Division facilities, either with full-time emplyees or through contractual services.

Facilities Maintenance

Facilities Maintenance provides a comprehensive approach to the operation and maintenance services for the Academic Division's facilities. Management of specialized techniques and collaborative practices is a fundamental component to sustain a multi-faceted complex and all of its integrated mechanical systems. This requires a diverse work force of skilled and professional personnel who maintain the plumbing, electrical, roofing, carpentry, elevator, HVAC, locks, architectural, and structural components of the University's academic buildings. Maintenance of fire protection systems for both the Health System and the Academic Division is also provided.

Landscape

Landscape provides turf, shrub, tree and plant management services for the academic portion of the University. This division also provides moving services for construction projects, office moves, disposal actions and department relocations.

Project Services

Project Services is a newly created division. This division includes the Renovations Department, which performs multi-trades improvements and alterations for departments throughout the University. Project Services has the capability to utilize our trades in general carpentry, electrical, masonry, sheet metal, painting, cabinetry, plumbing, signage, and asbestos removal. A scheduling and estimating group is also available to provide cost estimates and schedules for the Division.

In July of 2008, the Contract Management Department transferred from the Work Management Division to the Project Services Division. By taking this initiative, Facilities Management moves closer to our goal of providing cost effective completion of projects in a timelier manner, while continuing to maintain a high level of quality.

Work Management

Work Management's mission is to understand, then help meet, needs and desires related to the University’s facilities and grounds. Our mission is accomplished through customer communications and service, execution of maintenance programs, and systematic facility assessment. Responsibilities include work reception and authorization, maintenance program management, fleet management, facility assessment program, operations and maintenance budget management, receiving and staging of materials, and limited courier services.
