Trades Recertification

The State of Virginia requires that individuals holding trades' licenses attend recertification training every two years to renew their licenses. Facilities Management Human Resources & Training offers this training on-site as a benefit to employees.

To better serve FM employees, FM Human Resources & Training has created an annual training schedule. This schedule allows employees to know when they can plan to receive training based on their trades and their license expiration dates.

Though minor changes may occur throughout the year, the schedule is followed as closely as possible.

Employees are notified of changes to the schedule to allow them enough time to make necessary arrangements.

As the training months draw near, those who have upcoming license expirations will be notified by FM Human Resources & Training via e-mail. Specific details about the training are provided at that time.

Employees are required to return a registration form for training.

Facilities Management Human Resources & Training does not automatically register anyone for training because of an upcoming expiration.

Employees interested in on-line recertification training may contact FM Human Resources & Training for more information on the process or the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) for approved vendors.
